Visiting a lavender farm in the Luberon, Provence, France

Oui Honey and Lavender began as my way to act locally to support ecological health in my community. My family kept bees years ago, and I was concerned about the recent and dramatic loss of hives from “colony collapse”.

Oui honey is made by our own bees that are kept on the hillsides of Saratoga, California. The bees collect nectar and pollen from local botanicals and our Provençe lavender garden. Lavender is a low-water, drought-tolerant plant that is deer resistant and helps prevent erosion. It is also a favorite food source for the bees.

We hand-harvest and dry the lavender for our sachets. We also blend our honey and Provençal lavender oil with pure, solar-evaporated, Pacific Sea salt to create a unique, soothing bath salt.

Every element of our gifts is organic, biodegradable, recycled, or recyclable. – Laura Enander Harris
